ASC certification at Eyri farming site
Icelandic salmon farmer Fjarðalax, owned by Arnarlax have achieved Aquaculture Stewardship Certification (ASC) for it’s farming site Eyri in Patreksfjordur. ASC is one of the most stringent environmental certifications in world aquaculture.
The ASC standard has been developed in cooperation between the aquaculture industry and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF). ASC certified farms commit themselves to reducing the impact on local ecosystems in various ways, often over and above what is required by local laws and regulations.
